Russian reports about the destruction of American systems are part of the Kremlin’s disinformation campaign, a White House spokesman said.
Washington has not confirmed Moscow’s statement about the destruction of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems in Ukraine. This was in a briefing on January 4, said the official representative of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, The Hill reports.
“I’ve seen Russian claims that they got into the HIMARS system, but we don’t have any information that proves that,” a senior White House official said.
Kirby added that the Russians have released similar reports before, calling them part of the Kremlin’s disinformation campaign.
He also informed that in the near future the United States will announce a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, which may include HIMARS systems.
Remember, on January 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the day before they hit Druzhkovka and Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, destroying four HIMARS installations.
