Last night, in violation of international humanitarian law, the Russians carried out a massive air attack with kamikaze drones in the center of Kyiv.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office, criminal proceedings were initiated on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, on the night of January 2, the armed forces of the Russian Federation, in violation of international humanitarian law, carried out a massive air attack using kamikaze drones in the center of Kyiv. No one was killed. The energy infrastructure facility was damaged.
Employees of the State Emergency Service, prosecutors, investigators and experts are working at the scene. During inspections, fragments of downed unmanned aerial vehicles were found, and their identification is ongoing.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
Recall that as a result of the night shelling of Kyiv, energy infrastructure facilities were damaged.
