The release of a documentary film about the life of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the streaming service Netflix did not affect their positive perception among the inhabitants of the UK.
A significant part of the British wants to strip Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle of their royal titles. This was confirmed by the results of a YouGov poll. About this on Saturday, December 31, The Times wrote.
It was noted that 44% of respondents said that Prince Harry should be stripped of his title – Prince of Sussex, while 32% of Britons surveyed did not share this opinion.
In addition, 65% of Britons polled by YouGov believe that Harry and Meghan voluntarily gave up royal duties, and only 11% said that they were forced to leave the British royal family.
Also, 49% of respondents do not consider the British royal family a racist institution (the opposite opinion is 26%), commenting on Meghan Markle’s statement that one of the family members is against the dark that is the color of his son’s skin.
More than half of respondents (53%) believe Harry and Meghan do not deserve an apology from the royal family for such treatment – and only 19% think they do.
The authors of the survey asked respondents how their attitude towards the couple was influenced by the release of the Netflix documentary series about Harry and Meghan. It found that 23% of Britons thought less of Harry and Meghan after watching the show, compared to 7% who said they thought more of the couple.
But the series evoked sympathy for Harry’s older brother, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, among many who watched it. 44% of respondents said they sympathized more with William and Catherine – compared to 17% of respondents who sympathized with Harry and Meghan.
It will be remembered that the premiere of the series Harry and Meghan took place on December 8. The scandalous project made a splash.
We remind you, earlier Netflix presented the trailer for the second part of the documentary about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
