The leader of Moldova promised the timely and flawless fulfillment of all conditions presented by Moldova as a candidate country for EU membership.
Moldova should become a member of the European Union before the end of this decade. On Thursday, December 29, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said in an interview with Moldova 1 TV channel.
“I believe we should be members of the EU by the end of this decade,” Sandu said.
At the same time, the leader of Moldova said that the country’s government should more actively fulfill the conditions for joining the EU.
“A few weeks ago, we held a meeting of the European Integration Commission, but the government needs to act faster, it is a priority. European integration is a project of our country, we have no other chance and there is no other chance to ensure free and peaceful development and at the same time improve the living standards of the population,” he said.
He noted that he will hear the commission’s next report in early 2023.
Sandu emphasized that he intends to ensure “impeccable and timely” fulfillment of all the conditions set for Moldova as a candidate country for EU accession, before the arrival of the EU review commission.
