Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia and Ukraine were holding almost daily video conference talks on a draft of a possible agreement. Lavrov also expressed Russia’s view on Ukraine’s security guarantees.
“As one of the possible options, it is expected to create an institution of guarantor states, which, first of all, are permanent members of the UN Security Council, including Russia and China,” the minister said.
According to Lavrov, the negotiations were “not easy.” The minister believes that “NATO is doing everything to prevent the completion of the” special operation “by reaching political agreements.”
He called on US and NATO countries to “think their heads off” and stop providing arms to Ukraine. Lavrov said that the Ukrainian people do not need Stingers and Javelins, but urgent humanitarian issues, and Russia, according to him, has been doing so since 2014.
Earlier it was reported that the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia slowed down after information about Russia’s military atrocities in the Kyiv region and the Kremlin’s desire to intensify fighting in Donbass.
The other day, President Volodymyr Zelensky said the risks of terminating negotiations were high.
