Vilnius residents and businesses are urged to provide window panes and double-glazed windows to restore housing in Ukraine damaged by Russian shelling. The mayor of the Lithuanian capital Remigius Simasius made a corresponding appeal on Facebook.
According to him, mayors and residents of Ukrainian cities are asking for help in the restoration of windows, because in many houses instead of window panes have holes, in some places covered with cardboard.
“Ukraine needs window glass-let’s help them … If you are a business, you may have windows from your renovated house. If you make glass, you can contribute to helping Ukraine “I have already invited companies from the municipality of Vilnius, the community of developers and members of the Association builders of Lithuania. Thank you to all who responded quickly,” Simasius wrote.
He also urged the countrymen to make an inventory of their garages and dacha in search of building materials that could be left after the renovation. At the same time, the self-government of the Lithuanian capital takes over the delivery of glass to Ukraine.
