The increase in tariffs was made possible because they were not covered by the moratorium imposed on other utilities since the beginning of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In Ukraine, from January 1, tariffs for water and sewage will change. The corresponding decision was made on December 27 by the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the field of energy and utilities, according to the agency’s website.
NEURC validates the new tariffs on the calculations of the water utilities themselves, which submitted the cost structure of their services to the regulators.
According to the regulator, from January 1, 2023, tariffs for water supply and drainage will increase by an average of 10%. This means that for each region of Ukraine, the figures in the bills will be different, because the previous tariffs were also not uniform.
Initially, NEURC wanted to approve two increases in water tariffs simultaneously – from January 1 and July 1. However, the decision to raise water tariffs in the summer was postponed. It will be considered in May 2023.
It was previously reported that Nova Poshta announced a significant increase in delivery rates from January 1, 2023. The cost of delivery to the office and to the post office will now be calculated the same, the company’s press service reports .
