Shmyhal on social payments: We did the almost impossible

A total of approximately UAH 800 billion has been allocated for all social payments, the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported how the state fulfilled its social obligations to Ukrainians during the war.

“This year, the state fulfilled all its social obligations to Ukrainians. They did the almost impossible. Thanks to the creation of a centralized system for calculating payments, they were able to pay benefits, subsidies and benefits to people in the territory of battles and conquests,” Shmygal reported.

The prime minister noted that a total of about UAH 800 billion was allocated for all social payments, all planned increases were realized, in particular, military pensions were indexed for the first time.

In addition, as the head of government said, a program to support pensioners over 80 years old was successfully implemented, and in October, people over 70 began to receive additional benefits.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, more than UAH 575 billion pensions were paid this year.

Earlier, the Ministry of Social Policy reported that Ukraine will increase pensions, despite rising inflation.
