A column of steam, gas and ash 1500 meters high rose this Sunday from Cotopaxi volcanolocated in the Andean center of Ecuador, said the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School.
The institute indicated that this Sunday at 5:50 am (local time) the volcanic eruption was clean, and steam, gas and ash could be observed in a southeasterly direction.
Last Thursday there was a slight fall of ash from the Cotopaxi volcano in the south Quito.
On October 21, the Geophysical Institute reported an increase in seismic signals from a colossus standing in the Andes, about 45 km southeast of Quitocapital of Ecuador.

Cotopaxi5897 meters above sea level, the second highest peak in Ecuador and together with Sangay and Reventador (both in the Amazon region) are currently among the most active in the country.
There are more than fifty volcanoes in Ecuador, most of them located in the Andes mountain range, although there are such mountains in the Amazon and Galapagos Islands, located about a thousand kilometers west of the country’s continental coast. (EFE)
