The Pope asked God to enlighten “the minds of those in power to silence the weapons and end this urgent war!”
Pope Francis in his Christmas message called on those in power to silence the guns and end the war in Ukraine.
“Let our eyes be filled with the faces of the brothers of Ukrainians who are experiencing this Christmas in the dark, cold, far from their homes because of the destruction caused by ten months of war,” said Urbi et Orbi in a traditional message.
He urged to be ready for concrete acts of solidarity to help the suffering.
The Pope also asked God to enlighten “the thoughts of those who have the power to silence the weapons and immediately end this crazy war!”.
“Our time is experiencing a great hunger for peace also in other regions, in other theaters of this third world war,” the Pope also said.
It will be remembered that Pope Francis called for a “moderate” Christmas this year, and the funds saved from the reduction in the cost of gifts will be given to help “the poor people of Ukraine.”
