Since the start of the full Russian invasion, the National Police has registered 12% fewer crimes compared to the same period in 2021. At the same time, the number of fatal road accidents has decreased by 17%. This was announced by the head of the National Police Igor Klymenko on Telegram.
According to him, during the ten months of the war, the police received and processed almost 6.6 million appeals from citizens.
“The national police of Ukraine registered about 261,000 crimes during the 10 months of a full-scale war. This is 12% less compared to the previous year. Suspicions were reported against almost 126,000 criminal offenses ,” said Klymenko.
Specifically, law enforcement officials documented approximately 66,000 property crimes, including nearly 64,000 thefts. According to Klymenko, the police identified more than 15.4 thousand suspects.
In addition, 97 thousand accidents were registered in Ukraine for 10 months.
“It reduced by 17% the deaths on the roads – 2438 people died as a result of road accidents,” said Klymenko.
Overall, the number of accidents decreased by 1.8 times compared to last year.
It was previously reported that during the war the total number of crimes decreased by a quarter, but the level of serious and especially serious crimes remained almost at the level of the previous year.
