Although the EPR project to build six new nuclear reactors is a long-term commitment, if it goes ahead, the future of France, the first public meeting on the subject was held on Thursday without mobilizing the crowd. Organized by the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP) in Dieppe and Paris and broadcast live on the Internet, this first meeting nevertheless raised important issues of this consultation.
With several other meetings scheduled before February 27, this consultation should allow the public to be informed and have their say on whether or not to restart the French nuclear industry.
