But not only. 20,000 Ukrainian children, who rushed to the territory, fleeing from Russian bombs, are also preparing to return to school. Some will even discover them for the first time.
They welcomed 18,000 last June, according to the latest update from the Ministry of National Education. Most of them (40%) went to elementary school, 30% to college, 20% to kindergarten and only 10% to high school. Arriving in shock, often accompanied by their mothers and sometimes their grandmothers, the little Ukrainians were sent to the four corners of France. The academies with the largest number of students from Ukraine are Nice with 1,515 children, then Versailles with 1,291, followed by Grenoble with 1,182 minors enrolled.
The exact number of Ukrainian students has yet to be gathered, he replies Figaro Ministry of National Education. In general, 100,000 Ukrainians have settled in France since last March. Some want to settle there permanently, others are waiting for the evolution of the conflict, and those who could return have returned to their country.
