The political divide is deepening in the USA. Conservatives and progressives have stopped discussing abortion, guns, new theories of gender, sexuality or race, immigration, wearing masks or ecology. Each issue is just another tussle between two Americas that are drifting further and further apart.
One is formed by Republican-controlled states centered in the South, Midwest, and Rocky Mountains. The other is led by the Democrats, who form two blocs: on the Pacific coast and in the northeast, on the Atlantic Ocean. Adding to this divide is what separates large metropolises from villages and small towns in almost every state.
