Metropolitano: the new Lechucero service will operate in the early morning on weekends

From next weekend City Transport Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU) will launch a new service “Lechucero” Metropolitan which will operate from Friday 00:00 to Sunday 04:00, from Chorrillos to Independencia and vice versa.

In this way, passengers who, for various reasons, need to leave at dawn on these days, will be able to rely on an economical, convenient and, above all, safe service that will take them to their destination without inconvenience and avoiding the use of unofficial transport.

Service ‘Lechucero’ Metropolitan It will run from the Matellini terminal in Chorrillos to the Naranjal terminal in Independencia, stopping at Bulevar, Ricardo Palma, Giron de la Union and Thomas Valle stations to pick up and drop off passengers. In the opposite direction, the route and stops will be the same.

It will operate eight mainline buses at approximately 15 minute intervals. ATU personnel will be present at the aforementioned stations to guide and assist users in whatever is needed.

The cost of an overnight flight from Chorrillos to Independencia will be the same as that of an intercity flight. Metropolitan and you can use the system with your card Metropolitan or Limsky pass.

This service is added to route 305 “Lechucero” blue corridor which operates from 23:00 to 04:00 and mobilizes users who need to get from Rimac to Miraflores and vice versa.

Finally, the ATU reminded users of the health protocols to be aware of on public transport, such as using a KN95 mask or two simple masks and opening bus windows to allow air to circulate.

The legislator said that economic interests are behind the project, approved at the insistence of the plenary session of the parliament. On the other hand, MP Alex Paredes of the ruling Magisterial Bloc justified his group’s support for the project’s persistence despite the government’s compliance with the law.
