A seven-year-old girl was the victim of an assassination attempt more than a month ago kidnapping a man in the Lima area of Independencia.

Surveillance cameras recorded how the minor was returning home from the store, and when she was about to enter the territory, an unknown person approached her. When he was about to kidnap her, the girl bit him on the hand and began to call for help.

Given the unexpected actions of a minor, the man fled.

Ariana Canolittle girl’s aunt, told in RPP news on the same day he applied to the Independence Police Department to condemn the case.

“We were visited by a petty officer 3rd class, her name is Alehandrina Vargas, and she told us that she could not accept our complaint because she did not know who they should be looking for. and if you find it I will let them know, call me or take it to the police station. Then we went to Dirincri on Avenida España where we gave videos, statements and they also told us that here in Peru they have there was no facial recognition system, and they couldn’t give with the guy who tried to kidnap her,” he said.

“It’s been over a month and they haven’t done anything”

He also pointed out that the images do show the face of a man and that if National Police carried out his investigative work, “they would have found the subject” who was trying to kidnap his niece.

“What happens is that they don’t want to. My guess is that because we are foreigners, they had racism issues and therefore didn’t want to go ahead,” he said.

The relative said that the girl was traumatized by the incident and that she had received threats over the phone for showing pictures of the abductor. “My sister had to go to Venezuela with her and another child because she didn’t have security,” she explained.

“For him to be searched and found, for the police to do something so that he does not remain with his arms crossed, as he remains to this day. More than a month has passed and the police have done nothing,” he added.
