Lionsgate plans to make a TV series based on the Twilight franchise – media

A series of romantic fantasy films based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels have grossed over $3.4 billion at the global box office.

Lionsgate Television is in the early stages of developing a serialized version of the Twilight franchise based on the books by writer Stephenie Meyer. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The script was reportedly written by Sinead Daly, who previously worked on Tell Me Lies, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Raised by Wolves.

Wyck Godfrey and former Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-president Eric Feig, who while at Summit Entertainment acquired the rights to the Twilight book series after leaving Paramount Pictures, have been named executive producers on the new version.

When exactly the shooting will start and who will play the main characters Bella, Edward Cullen and Jacob is still unknown.

It was previously reported that HBO will release a new prequel to the popular series Game of Thrones, which will tell about the conquest of Westeros by Aegon I Targaryen.
