Cynthia Macaremother of the deceased Katherine Gomezasked the President of Colombia. Gustavo Petroexpel Venezuelan Sergio Tarache, who burned his daughter alive on March 18 in the Plaza dos de Mayo in downtown Lima.
“I believe that he will help me, my family has not rested since this unfortunate man killed my daughter. The only way my daughter and our family can rest is for this unfortunate man to come to Lima and pay for his crime,” he said in an interview with RPP Noticias.
“Help us with exile”
Cynthia Macare along with the victim’s father, José Gómez, and former Minister for Women and Vulnerable Groups, Rosario Sacieta, are in Bogotá, Colombia, asking the Colombian authorities to “facilitate the execution of the relevant paperwork” in order to Sergio Tarache be deported to Peru in the next few hours. However, Tuesday afternoon is the deadline for a neighboring country to expel a Venezuelan from its territory.
“I want you to help us expedite the clearance paperwork. Now they have told us that the expulsion only covers their country of origin. But the origin of the man is in Venezuela. I will need more time (in connection with the delivery to the country of the murder of his daughter) if he goes to Venezuela. And we ask for deportation to the country of origin where the murder took place, and the murder was in Peru and here he must answer to the Peruvian justice system for the death of my daughter. And this is our request to President Petro to help us with the expulsion. [del venezolano] in Peru,” he said.
Cynthia Macare He said that Sergio Tarache was “a despicable creature” and that “burning a man alive has no name”.
The mother claimed that the Peruvian Foreign Ministry had done “even the impossible” to expel the killer to Peru. “Now, it is not their responsibility, but the Colombian government,” he added.
Last Thursday, April 13, the 24th Court of Inquiry of Lima issued a 9-month preventive detention order against Sergio Tarache Parra for the offense of femicide to the detriment of Katherine Gomez.
