EsSalud: A 37-year-old man injured during the protests is in intensive care with a reserved prognosis

EsSalud Executive President, Arturo Orellanareported this Sunday that a 37-year-old man identified with RMA initialsseriously injured last night during clashes between police and protesters in downtown Lima, remains in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Guillermo Almenara hospital in stable condition but with a cautious prognosis.

Orellana said 11 patients who were admitted to the Almenara hospital with minor injuries on Saturday evening have already been discharged, and only the patient admitted to the intensive care unit remains in the medical center.

The head of EsSalud confirmed that Viktor Santisteban Yaksavilka A 55-year-old man who died during Saturday night’s protests was admitted to the hospital with a “blunt wound to the right retoauricular region, with fairly significant bleeding.”

In a previous statement, EsSalud noted that Santisteban was admitted to the Grau Emergency Hospital “in a poor general condition with impaired consciousness, with an acute blunt wound in the right behind the ear (behind the ear) as a result of a blow.”

“We deeply regret this death, the medical and service personnel provided all the timely and necessary assistance,” he concluded.
