Groups of protesters march this Monday afternoon through the various streets of Cercado de Lima on a new day of mobilization against the government Dina Boluarte and Congressto call for a general election this year.
These people are occupying Alfonso Ugarte Avenue in the direction of Piazza Bolognesi, following a route similar to the one they have been following for the past two days. This is the largest group of protesters, and they are accompanied by patrolmen from National Police.
However, the troops prevented the demonstrators from advancing towards 9 december avenue and used tear gas to disperse them. Faced with this situation, the Protestants retreated to avenue of spain.
Meanwhile, another group of protesters with flags and posters with slogans against the executive and legislative authorities is concentrating in Plaza dos de Mayo.
The CCTV cameras of the municipality of Lima show the movement of these people in the capital.
At least two mobilizations against the government were announced this Monday, one by Organized Civil Society and the other by graduates and reservists of the armed forces. The rallying point for both marches was San Martin Square.
social crisis
This new mobilization day follows those registered the day before and last Thursday, 19 January.
The protest these days focused on lima fence.
The demonstrators demand the resignation of President Dina Boluarte, as well as the departure of congressmen and the appointment of a general election.
The last-day protests in the capital come after weeks of demonstrations in various regions of the country, starting from the second week of December 2022.
So far, the death toll in this social crisis in the country is 56 people.
