The Ministry of Health (Minsa) has recommended that all medical institutions across the country take basic preventive measures in the face of “adverse situations”. This is due to what could have happened on Thursday in Lima and the regions during the announced marches against the government of Dina Boluarte.
The institution notes that, as a preventive measure, “it is recommended that all healthcare institutions throughout the country adapt their respective basic predictive measures, in accordance with the provisions of Directive No. 036-2004-OGDN / Minsa-V.01.”
This Thursday, the 19th, various organizations called for a nationwide strike and mobilization day in various regions. In anticipation of difficulties with public transport, the Ministry of Labor announced that tomorrow a work permit will be introduced.
Last week, Minsa specified that 67 people had been injured in the demonstrations. hospitalized in the regions of Puno, Arequipa, Lima and Apurimac.
MML will make the images available
Lima Metropolitan Municipality Civil Security Manager Abdul Miranda told RPP News that Serenazgo’s CCTV images would be made available to authorities, such as the police and the Crime Prevention Prosecutor’s Office, in the event of violence occurring during the Thursday 19th demonstrations.
The official clarified that all the cameras of the central Serenasgo de Lima – 196 in total – “work correctly” and record “all movements that are made in the fence.” Despite these measures, Miranda advised people who did not take part in the protest not to move around the streets of downtown Lima.
The police stopped the march
A group of protesters and members of the national police clashed at the intersection of Avenida 28 de Julio and Arequipa after they tried to move towards Miraflores on Wednesday. The troops prevented the protesters from reaching the area.
Over the weekend, the national police allowed protesters to march through the streets of Miraflores; however, this time the situation was different and there were some incidents.
National police agents are also monitoring the entrance to Lima on the Pucusana toll road, on the Panamericana-Sur highway, until demonstrators may arrive to protest against President Dina Boluarte.
