The first wheel loaders arrived three weeks ago in front of the Jussieu campus, where the futuristic construction imagined by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels (BIG) will soon appear. The building, all glass, will be a showcase for the marriage of French research, innovation excellence, but also… entrepreneurial dynamism. Welcome to Paris Parc, the future startup incubator of the Sorbonne University, formed in 2018 by the merger of Paris-IV and Pierre-et-Marie-Curie University (Jussieu), 15,000 square meters in the heart of the capital, dedicated to to welcome business creators and researchers who will find there the framework, the means and perhaps the enthusiasm to realize their ambitions together over the course of two years… “Entrepreneurial spirit blows in our universities, says Thomas Kudro, director of research and innovation at the Sorbonne. Every year, more than a dozen start-up companies come out of our research laboratories.
