The EOS-06 satellite was launched into orbit, designed to conduct ocean research and monitor processes in the world’s oceans.

India has successfully launched a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). It is to launch the EOS-06 Earth remote sensing satellite and eight nanosatellites into orbit. This was announced by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Saturday, November 26.

The launch was carried out at 11:56 local time (08:26 Kyiv time) from the launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Center on the island of Sriharikota in southeastern India.

It is learned that the rocket successfully launched the EOS-06 satellite into the target orbit with high precision. The rest of the satellites will be launched into their target orbits after some time.

The EOS-06 (Earth Observation Satellite-06) device weighing 1117 kg was created to replenish the Oceansat satellite constellation to ensure continuous observation of the oceans and applications in the field of oceanography. EOS-06 is scheduled to go into sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 738 km and complement the work of the Oceansat-2 satellite, which was launched in 2009.

Eight cubesats will also go into orbit at an altitude of 511 km, including the Indian INS-2B, Anand, two Thybolt devices and four Astrocast nanosatellites, developed by the Swiss company of the same name. All vehicles will be used to test and demonstrate various technologies.

Earlier in November, a private Vikram-S rocket was launched in India for the first time. The rocket weighing 546 kilograms reached a height of almost 90 kilometers.
