The trade war between the US and China has reached a new level. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has completely banned dozens of Chinese companies from entering the American market. In doing so, it approves the enactment of the Secure Equipment Act, which aims to ban equipment deemed “untrustworthy” from the nation’s grids, and sets up a relief program to dismantle and replace incriminating equipment already in place.
Telecom equipment makers Huawei and ZTE, radio and video surveillance equipment suppliers Hytera, Hangzhou Hikvision and Dahua, as well as China Mobile and China Telecom are all banned from American soil.
