Instagram will soon allow content creators to create and sell their own NFTs

NFT or “irreplaceable signs” designed and marketed directly on the Instagram social network, is the new feature that Meta announced on Tuesday, November 2, along with several other updates. These “irreplaceable signsare unique digital objects. It can be, for example, a work of art, writing or video, validated by a block chain or “blockchain“.

The group revealed that content creators on Instagram will be able to design and market their own NFTs directly within the app using “toolboxMeta declares.

To design this feature and authenticate the NFTs in question, Meta partnered with Indian company Polygon, a blockchain-related technology specialist.

In turn, users will be able to purchase digital collections designed by their favorite personalities directly within the Instagram app. Meta clarifies that the process will be similar to any traditional in-app purchases via iOS and Android. For now, the group is still testing this new feature “a small group of creatorsin the United States, but hopes to expand to other countries soon.

Embed giveaways on Instagram

Separately, Meta made several other statements related to Instagram. These updates aim to offer better compensation to content creators to maintain their presence on Instagram amid competition from apps like TikTok.

The Group plans to provide subscription access to all eligible creators in the United States. The feature, which launched last January with a small group of creators, allows them to offer paid access to exclusive content such as Instagram Live videos or Stories to their fans. People who subscribe also get a special badge to stand out in the comments section and authors’ inboxes.

Meta also announced the introduction of giveaways on Instagram via Reels, the social network’s long-form video format. Now, to support their content creators, subscribers can send gifts by purchasing app stars from the videos in question. This feature is very popular on TikTok. Again, this new service is first being tested with a small group of creators in the United States.
