As in any Amazon warehouse, packages parade non-stop on conveyor belts. Except here, the packages don’t go anywhere, the employees who deal with them are engineers, and the robots are prototypes in training. Welcome to BOS27, Amazon’s codename for its brand new innovation center on the outskirts of Boston. It is in this warehouse with an area of less than 100,000 m2 that the engineers of the American giant imagine how our packages will be prepared and delivered in the future. It’s also where the latest innovations are tested, with about 200 employees making most of the robots that power Amazon’s 400 distribution centers around the world.
