National University of San MarcosUNAMS) was awarded by the National Council on Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (Consitec) as the institution with the most scientific publications in Scopusthe largest bibliographic base of abstracts and references to articles.
The award was given to “Dean of America” thanks to the work of its over 383 research teams and over 2,000 contributors who wrote scientific articles from 2017 to 2021.

Scientific Production Award Scopus – Consitec 2022 – initiative Consitec and Elsevier, which since 2017 has been rewarding the scientific output of researchers associated with Peruvian institutions.
For five years UNAMS accumulated 6907 scientific articles in Scopusstanding out from the rest of Peruvian institutions such as universities or research centers.
Scopus is a bibliographic database of abstracts and citations from scientific journal articles. Covers approximately 24,500 series titles (journals, conferences, research books) from over 5,000 publishers in 140 countries, including peer-reviewed journals in science, technology, medicine, and the social sciences, including the arts and humanities.
The rector of the university, Dr. Jerry Ramon Ruffner, noted that “San Marcos makes sure that the necessary tools are in place to support the research process and access to scientific information, the main and relevant aspects for their dissemination and the creation of new knowledge.”

Sanmarkina Ramon Ruffner allocated a subscription to databases of magazines and books; development policy through the Editorial Fund UNAMS; growth of the Institutional Digital Repository; and more than 18,000 abstracts and scientific articles have been published.
