famous artist Kanye West made a bet on parlerpopular social network among American conservatives.
The announcement was made by parent company Parlement Technologies, which expects the deal to close by the end of the year.
Yes, more conservative than ever
The artist, also named Yeh, has been blocked in recent weeks on various social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook for promoting anti-Semitic discourse.
In a recently deleted tweet, West said he was “going to die with 3 [sic] about the JEWISH PEOPLE” and also that “you played a prank on me and tried to fool anyone who opposes your program”, without specifying which group he was targeting.
“In a world where conservative views are seen as controversial, we must secure the right to freely express our opinion,” West said in a Parler statement about the deal.
The singer has cut ties with brands like Gap and Adidas while his social media behavior is under investigation.
How much money was involved in this purchase is not specified.
Parler wants to get back on the water
parler It became especially popular amid the storming of the Capitol, during which supporters of Donald Trump seized the Houses of Parliament as a way of rebelling against the victory of Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
The app was removed from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for failing to properly temper the platform’s aggressive rhetoric, the companies said. Since then, parler was reinstated in both app stores after making changes to their content moderation practices. Last month, as part of that reform, Parler created a new parent company, Parlement Technologies Inc.
