This site consists of three settlements and more than 300 longhouses. The remains of 35 people were found there.
Archaeologists conducting excavations at the site of a Neolithic settlement in Vrable in western Slovakia discovered a mass grave with the dismembered remains of about three dozen people, Ancient Origins wrote.
It is noted that the Vrable settlement is one of the largest Stone Age settlements excavated to date in Central Europe. Experts believe that the occupants of the tomb may have been killed in cult ceremonies.
The 50-hectare Vrable site itself dates from roughly between 5250 and 4950 BC.
The skeletons were found in a ditch near one of the six entrances. The mass grave in a long trench contains the remains of 35 people who, according to experts, may have been victims of cult sacrifices. The corpses were probably thrown into the grave at random with the skeletons on the back, sides, front, arms and legs exposed. There are men, women and children.
The bones showed clear signs of near-death fractures with no signs of healing.
Recall that early scientists discovered a mass grave with a three-meter skeleton. It happened in Louisiana. Yeti fans have speculated that it may be the mythical Bigfoot.
Massive child sacrifices have been found in Peru
