The TWS headphone market is getting hotter and more and more NIUSGEEK tables are being filled with these items. sennheiser It’s an audio brand preceded by its reputation for professional audio, but trying to co-exist in a sector where phone makers have imposed conditions. Can these CX TWS stand up to Huawei, Samsung or Xiaomi? This is the opinion of NIUSGEEK.

Sennheiser CX TWS: what you need to know
Nothing small. Before us is a large set with an outstanding body compared to the current offer of other brands. The cases are usually long and narrow, or wide and slightly more square. It’s like a picnic fridge, but smaller.

However, this is not the smallest detail. The magnetic system of the case is very strong and the notification LED is very bright, tri-color, depending on the battery level. On the back we have a USB-C charging port and on the lid we have the Sennheiser logo in high relief.

The headphones themselves stand out in comparison to details such as Buds2 Pro or even Razer Hammerheads with RGB lighting. Despite the fact that the hearing aid protrudes a lot from the ear, the ear canal is well sealed due to its design.

They are comfortable, but small ears may experience a little discomfort. Good thing we have IPX4 certification which gives us an extra layer of protection against sweat or rain. Remember that there are 3 additional sizes of silicone tips in the package, from XS to L.

Application. To communicate with the equipment, we have “Smart Control”, the Sennheiser app for iOS and Android. From here we can connect hardware, access updates and touch settings.

We can create our own sound presets in the app using Sound Check, an algorithm that determines the sound curve that best suits your taste based on benchmarks while playing music. Truth be told, it’s a painstaking job for a brand to tailor such a complex valuation in simple steps.

To get started, you need to play something on your paired phone or device, and then launch Sound Check in the app. The app will start adding sound recommendations in 3 tiles and you have to choose the one you like the most. After three screens, you will go to your EQ for micro-tuning and finally save this setting to your favorites.

Another tool is “Sidetone”, the ability for hardware to turn on your own voice during video calls. The feedback is important to me, and these hearing aids have a pleasant and adjustable feedback in three stages: off, minimum and maximum volume of our voice.

Seamless connection. I’ve used this device with my Pixel 6 Pro, my Xiaomi 12 Pro, Vivo X80 Pro and REDMAGIC 7S Pro, I’ve had no signal dropouts in any of them, although I’ve had a bit of trouble pairing my headphones, especially when only one is connected . Really minor issue caused by having multiple TWS games on my desktop and one of them needs auto-connect to open. My theme.

Excellent tactile ability. Sometimes TWS are usually idiosyncratic in the tactile part. I’ve had models that only work when you press, or just swipe, or even just pinch the stem of each earbud. I never got all three short touches and one long touch together. Until now. Sennheiser has all three touches and you can adjust EACH SIDE independently.

In addition, the audio response of each touch is very good, with a frequency that stands out a little from the music. We have a voice that notifies the battery status and the connection, but we only have one in English.

And how does it sound? Well, in general terms, you understand why Sennheiser is an audio brand, not a mobile phone. This is the first time I use TWS so good and reliable in sound that I can hardly find such sound quality from others.

First, we have – let me take advantage of this – THE BEST STEREO SYSTEM. Well done, separated, almost like a fan-and-pan and layer that doesn’t clutter the sound unnecessarily. Each stereo layer is felt in terms of distance and depth.

Puddle of Mudd’s “Blurry” seems to be very broad in one song. The “Pasos” Soda Stereo feels like it has huge bass depth in a flat sound, a sound that I was only able to get by activating plugins in other TWS. Here, flat and without noise reduction, you achieve everything that other brands achieve by adding tricks and mixes. The guitar chords on NTVG’s “That Damn Moment” sound crystal clear, while the drums and bass sound warm and free. Everything is great.

Wait, why is there no undo? His. There is no active noise cancellation. Will you miss her? Possibly not, as these TWS are very loud in addition to passively isolating incoming noise. It’s not perfect, but it greatly reduces outside noise intrusion. Now it’s good for autonomy.

Almost eight hours of entertainment. Yes, I was able to get up to 7:50 hours of playback on a single charge over a couple of days. The case has the ability to fill the CX with twice as much energy, so we guarantee tremendous autonomy. Among TWS, this is huge.
Sennheiser CX TWS Are they worth it?

It depends on what you are looking for. If you’re looking for amazing sound, great battery life, and a great touch system at a reasonable price, this is your first choice. You don’t get active cancellation, wireless charging, proximity sensors, a smaller body, or signed plug-ins.
Another issue is the price. They can be found in the local market for just over 400 sols, and in the official Sennheiser store they can be found for $80. Although they are higher than the Redmi Buds 3 Pro or Huawei FreeBuds SE, we have headphones from the audio company. I understand that this is not for everyone, as prices determine the purchasing decision, but I am reaching out to those who are unhappy with the TWS offer made by mobile phone brands. These are the ones you are looking for.
