The app offers two types of perpetual licenses: a professional with some restrictions (PRO) for $49.99 and a more expensive but unlimited (EX) for $219.
Nonetheless, Clip Studio Paint will become a subscription app (billed monthly) in 2023.
In a statement, the app developers indicated that the current perpetual license product will be called Clip Studio Paint 1.0 and will stop receiving “free updates” from 2023.
New features will appear in the new version for subscribers (Clip Studio Paint 2.0) and users Clip Studio Paint 1.0 they will be able to access them if they pay for a discounted annual subscription.
The developers specify that current users will be able to use Clip Studio Paint 1.0 forever as long as it works on your devices.
