Moldova launched its first satellite into space

Thanks to the spacecraft, Moldovan scientists can start space exploration.

On Friday, August 12, the International Space Station team launched the Moldovan TUMnanoSAT satellite into space. NewsMaker reported it.

On the night of July 14-15, a Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched the Dragon 2 cargo spacecraft into orbit. The next day, it landed with the ISS, delivering a satellite there. There it was launched into its final orbit to help Moldovan scientists explore space.

It was mentioned that the TUMnanoSAT satellite was developed by the research team (UTM). This is Moldova’s first experience in space exploration. In 2018, UTM’s research team applied for the KiboCUBE Project, a UN-Japan cooperation program.

It was previously reported that in Moldova, the TUMnanoSAT satellite was launched into space on the evening of July 15.
