The CEO of Qualcomm said test samples with new communication standards will appear in three years.
During the opening of the annual event of the Snapdragon Summit 2025 Qualcomm, in addition to future products, especially the Snapdragon X2 Chip, it emphasized the new generation of mobile communications, reports Tom’s guide. CEO Christiano Amon said the company plans to display the first devices with support for 6G “in 2028”.
We talk about the “ancestral” samples of “ancestors” – test gadgets that will show network capabilities. It’s too early to wait for mass consumers to wait for the 6G scartphone, but the reality of approaching this technology is an important stage.
According to Amon, 6G will vary from 5G not only by speed and throughput, but also by the “intelligence” of the network: it will detect data from sensors and provide context -focused services. This, according to Qualcomm, will open the way to new use scenarios, where cloud and device calculations will work as a single system.
In addition, 6G should be a major element of developing artificial intelligence. We talk about hybrid models that combine cloud capacity and local devices – from interfaces to sensors.
The company said “6G will come sooner than you think” – and maybe the first consumer devices with a new standard may appear before the end of this decade.
A few years ago, Samsung predicted the appearance of 6G to 2030. That same year, China brought to the orbit the world’s first 6G satellite.
