The artifact is currently at the exhibition at the museum. There are suspicions that at one time the sword was a ritual victim after the colonization of the land.
In the province of Utrecht, during dredging work, archaeologists discovered a unique Medieval sword with symbols associated with Vikings and Christian rites. According to Armeonews, a sword for nearly a thousand years, it has decorated with a “eternal knot” – a sign that the early German and Scandinavian cultures symbolized loyalty, spiritual unity and protection.
The motive is made up of five coherent squares in a circle, which is a thin inlaid with a copper wire. On the other side of the blade, researchers discovered another sacred symbol – the solar wheel, which in medieval Europe was associated with Christian consecrations and used in rituals on the borders of the Christian world.
The sword was maintained properly due to the lack of oxygen in the clay under the Linzoten river, where it was found. The caution lasted ten weeks and opened salt cleaning and treating tannins. The lack of scabbard context and discovery suggest that the artifact is probably sacrificed – it can deliberately leave it with water as a ritual sacrifice during active terrain colonization.
Currently, the sword has been presented at the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden as part of the exposure of new revenues. A gift to the museum was officially given to the Municipality of Montfort and the property of Linshota.
We will remind you, earlier that Norway was reported to have discovered a 1000-year funeral of a Viking female with his dog.
In Turkey, they found the royal grave for more than 2700 years
