NASA is picking up the pace, and we are already on discounts for the next mission to the long-awaited return of man to the moon, under the Artemis program. Having learned the scheduled date for the first flight of the SLS and the Orion capsule for August 29, the space agency decided to share a trailer of what we expect from this inspiring mission to return to Earth’s natural satellite.

Artemis is the most ambitious project of NASA and a number of logistics partners aimed at returning people to the Moon and, after developing sustainable spaces and generating energy using satellites, creating a space platform for launches to other planets.

NASA’s Artemis: Moon Launch trailer features an animation showing the Massive Space Launch System (SLS) that carries the Orion capsule into space. Artemis I will include sending this module to fly around the Moon before a remote return.

“Artemis I will be the first in a series of increasingly challenging missions, an uncrewed test flight that will lay the foundation for human deep space exploration and demonstrate our commitment and ability to extend human existence to the Moon and beyond.” NASA notes.

Artemis I and the transfer of astronauts to the Moon and Mars

The importance of this mission could not be more apparent. If all goes well, conditions for the Artemis II mission in 2024 will be favorable. On this next mission, the second of an initial three, the astronauts will be brought on board via the same route that has been optimized to reduce power consumption.

The third Artemis mission of this first phase will take place in 2025, depending on the success of the first two, and it will be this that will finally allow the first woman to arrive on the Moon along with the first person of color. get to the satellite.

This first stage will create a habitable base on the lunar surface, which will be responsible for the construction of the launch pad and the creation of conditions for sustainable human life. The purpose of this project is to create a “intermediate stage” between Earth and Mars, a great leap for humanity, scheduled for the next decade.
