James Webb first recorded Polar Ningning in Neptune. This phenomenon is different from the ground and has emerged due to the unique magnetic field of the giant ice.
The James Webb Space Telescope, created together by NASA, ESA and CSA, first photographed a Polar Polar in Neptune. This discovery was published in Nature 26, on March 26, Yahoo reported.
Polar Ningning on other giant gas giant Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus discovered more than 30 years ago, but science has not confirmed data about the phenomenon in Neptune.
The pictures taken by the telescope in the nearby infrared spectrum showed polar radiance, formed thanks to the unique molecules – trihydrogenic cations.
Unlike northern northern lights, which occur near geographical poles, in Neptune this phenomenon is observed at medium latitudes. The reason is the unique structure of Neptune’s magnetic field, which is inclined of 47 degrees associated with the planet’s axis.
“It is in fact possible to document Polar Ningning in Neptune just thanks to James Webb’s sensitivity to close infrared radiation. It is surprising to see Polar Radiance, but their details and clarity really surprised me,” planet Henrik Melin from Northumbrian University in the UK shared impressions.
Previously, these pictures could not be obtained, as Polar Ningning in Neptune was not visible to the bare eyes, but in the near -infrared spectrum, which was configured by the James Webb telescope.
