The company’s CEO, Elon Musk, also said he hopes the robots will be put into large-scale production for other companies by 2026.
Tesla has been working on this type of Optimus work for several years and expects it to be able to handle challenging tasks while also alleviating labor shortages and improving production efficiency.
It is also expected that the robots will be able to communicate and protect against unwanted actions.
It was previously reported that Tesla has released its second generation humanoid robot, Optimus Gen 2, which is supposed to perform some tasks normally performed by humans.
