China launched a new surveillance satellite, Gaofen-11 05, into space on July 19, which will also be used for national defense purposes. CGTN reports.
The spacecraft was launched into orbit by a LongMarch-4B launch vehicle, launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province in northern China. The current launch is the 528th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles.
It was noted that the satellite is a universal tool for remote sensing of the Earth and will be used in various fields, including Earth observation, urban planning, road network design, crop yield assessment and disaster prevention and mitigation.
It will also provide information support to projects under China’s global logistics initiative One Belt, One Road and use them for national defense needs.
We remind you that the Chinese private space company Galactic Energy conducted the second sea launch of its launch vehicle, launching four satellites into space to collect and transmit data.
Earlier it was reported that China made the first launch of the Long March-6C launch vehicle, a new model in the family of these rockets.
