Parts of the Tianlong-3 rocket were scattered in the “safe area” but caused a local fire.

In central China, the first stage of a Tianlong-3 rocket developed by Beijing Tianbing Technology Co fell off after launch and exploded in the hilly area of Gunyi city. Reuters reported this in relation to the company on Sunday, June 30.

The accident is said to have occurred due to a “structural fault.” Parts of the rocket were scattered in the “safe area”, but caused a local fire. It was killed quickly. No harm done.

The two-stage Tianlong-3 is a reusable launch vehicle manufactured by Beijing Tianbing Technology Co (also known as Space Pioneer – ed.). The developers believe that in the future it will be comparable in performance to SpaceX’s Falcon 9.

Recall that in May, China launched the latest Long March-6C rocket into space. It has a length of 43 meters and a launch weight of approximately 215 tons. The rocket is capable of delivering a payload weighing about 2.4 tons to a 500-kilometer orbit.

Earlier, the Gravity-1 rocket was launched in China. It is called the most powerful solid-fuel rocket in the world. The rocket has three main stages and four boosters.
