The Starship spacecraft, after an orbit around the Earth, must land in the Indian Ocean.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX conducted the first successful test launch of the super-heavy 120-meter Super Heavy launch vehicle with the Starship spacecraft from a site in Boca Chica in Texas. The company announced this on Twitter (X) on Thursday, March 14th.

The launch took place at 09:25 US East Coast time (15:25 Kyiv time). The Starship was launched into orbit for the first time. After an orbit around the Earth, it should land in the Indian Ocean. But there is no information yet if it has been successfully done.

We remind you that in 2023, two previous attempts to launch the Starship ended in failure. But the information received helped SpaceX avoid mistakes in the third launch.

SpaceX developed the reusable Starship spacecraft for deep space missions, including the Moon and Mars. The rocket system consists of two parts: the Super Heavy launch vehicle with 33 Raptor engines and the Starship. The height of the rocket is 120 meters. It is higher than any other rocket ever created in the world. The Super Heavy is also twice as powerful as the Space Launch System (SLS) heavy rocket created by NASA for manned flights to the Moon.
