The Electron launch vehicle was launched on the morning of January 31 from the launch site on the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand.
Rocket Lab successfully launched four satellites into space on January 31 as part of the Four of a Kind mission. This was reported by NASASpaceflight.
The Electron launch vehicle launched from the spaceport on the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand has already been mentioned.
The mission’s payload consists of four Low Earth Multi-Role Receiver (LEMUR) minisatellites launched into orbit on behalf of customer Spire Global Inc., which built them and will operate them for its customer NorthStar Earth & Space.
The four 16U spacecraft, each weighing six kilograms, were reportedly built by Spire “to provide space-based weather monitoring, as well as tracking maritime and aviation activities.”
The NorthStar Earth & Space satellite constellation is planned to eventually consist of 12 satellites. Eight more will be launched in blocks of four through two Electron launches later this year.
We remind you that on December 15, Rocket Lab successfully launched the Japanese satellite Tsukuyomi-1 into space.
It was previously reported that Rocket Lab launched two Capella satellites into orbit.
