The strike in Berlin will begin at 3.30 and end at 23.59. About 170 takeoffs and landings from nearly 50 thousand passengers were planned here on Thursday.
The strike will also continue at the airports of Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Dresden, Erfurt, Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart. However, Munich Airport will remain open.
Verdi is demanding a wage increase of 2.80 euros per hour for about 25,000 workers in Germany and higher overtime premiums.
In January, farmers, carriers, and train drivers went on strike in Germany.
Deutsche Bahn and the GDL drivers’ union will continue tariff negotiations. There will be no strikes until at least March 3.
