Cotia is a simple cat-to-owner communicator that translates animal sounds into a form humans can understand.
Ukrainian startups have created a collar for cats, which, using artificial intelligence, translates animal sounds into a form that humans can understand. This was reported by the National University of Lviv Polytechnic.
The idea to create such a device came to the author of the startup in 2020, when he was writing his thesis. Then he realized that the idea looked profitable, so he began to study research, competitors and user interest in such a product.
“I have four cats at home in the village, and all my life I watch what happens to them, and sometimes, in fact, I do not understand if everything is okay with the cats, because it is impossible to trust the your skills in understanding an animal,” says Andrey Mikhailov.
As for the collar itself, it is called Cotia.
It looks comfortable and collects sound data coming from the animal. The system then analyzes the sound using artificial intelligence and outputs the result. The process resembles the making of a fitness bracelet. In addition to improving interaction with the cat, such a device could analyze long-term data, which would allow startups to make recommendations on when it’s best to care for the animal.
The design of the accessory is still subject to change as the inventor and his team strive to make it comfortable for the animal.
It was previously reported that artificial intelligence has learned to imitate human handwriting.
