The image is a really interesting example of how difficult it is to determine whether two galaxies are close to each other, or just imagining it.
The Hubble Space Telescope recorded the meeting of four spiral galaxies. This was reported by the ESA Observatory.
The largest galaxy in the image is NGC 1356, which can be seen on the right side of the image. This spiral galaxy is located 550 million light years from Earth.
It is surrounded by several galaxies with a similar spiral shape. Above the main galaxy is a cosmic object known as LEDA 467699, and to its left is LEDA 95415. To the far left of the trio of galaxies is another cluster of stars: IC 1947.
Noted that this image is a really interesting example of how difficult it is to tell if two galaxies are really close to each other, or if they just appear to be from our perspective here on Earth.
For example, although NGC 1356 and LEDA 95415 appear so close that they must undoubtedly interact, the former is about 550 million light-years away from Earth and the latter about 840 million light-years away, putting them about 300 million light-years away. .
This also means that LEDA 95415 is unlikely to be smaller than NGC 1356 as the image suggests.

It was previously reported that NASA has shown a composite image of a distant galaxy that looks like twinkling holiday lights and also resembles a colorful glass ball with snow.
