An amazing structure resembling a human hand has been discovered in space. This object is known as MSH 15-52.
NASA scientists using two X-ray telescopes, Chandra and IXPE, have discovered a cosmic structure that resembles a human hand. NASA reported it.
It is noted that these telescopes show the behavior of dead stellar remnants, which continue to live thanks to plumes of particles of energetic matter and antimatter.
About 1,500 years ago, a giant star in our Galaxy ran out of nuclear fuel to burn, scientists say. When this happens, the star collapses in on itself and forms a very dense object called a neutron star, or pulsar.
Young pulsars can create jets of matter and antimatter that travel away from the pulsar’s poles along with intense winds, forming a “pulsar wind nebula.”
In 2001, NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory first observed the pulsar PSR B1509-58 and discovered that its wind nebula (MSH 15-52) resembles a human hand. MSH 15-52 is located 16,000 light years from Earth.
NASA’s newest X-ray telescope, the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE), observed MSH 15-52 for about 17 days, the longest observing period of any object since its launch in December 2021.
“The IXPE data gives us the first map of the magnetic field in a ‘hand.’ The charged particles that produce the X-rays move along the magnetic field, which determines the underlying shape of the nebula, just as the bones in a human hand do,” said Roger Romani of Stanford University in California. who led the study.

It was previously reported that the Hubble telescope had taken a picture of the spiral galaxy, which is sometimes called the Spanish Dancer.
