Local media reported this.
On October 31 at 18.30 it arrived on a Russian train at the Mushketovo railway station in the Budennovsky district of Donetsk.
Local residents on social networks reported a series of explosions similar to the use of a multiple launch rocket system. As a result of the impact, the fuel tanks were occupied.
At least five affected cisterns are known. The rescue service carried out measures to extinguish the fire, but it is not yet known whether it was stopped.
Russian propaganda media reported that reporters from the occupying country who were nearby at the time of the attack were also injured as a result of the attack.
Donetsk, as well as its urban agglomeration, today acts as a powerful logistics hub for the Russian armed forces. Military rotations, as well as transportation of military equipment, equipment and ammunition pass through the city.
In addition, the Russian military uses the occupied city as a center for deploying ammunition or fuel depots, as was the case on October 31.
The destruction of fuel reserves should complicate the support of Russian mechanized units that are currently carrying out offensive operations in the Avdeevka area.
In July of this year, in the city of Makeyevka (actually part of Donetsk), in a similar way, the Ukrainian military discovered and destroyed a large warehouse with ammunition of the invaders. In March 2023, in the vicinity of Donetsk, Ukrainian artillerymen hit a parking lot with Russian self-propelled artillery installations. Then two Soviet-made 122-mm self-propelled guns 2S1 “Gvozdika” came under attack.
