Kyiv cardiac surgeon transplanted a heart to a 12-year-old girl. This was reported by the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The girl had been sick for more than a year and was waiting for her chance.

“Thank you to the donor’s family for the very difficult and at the same time very important decision. Today we have saved another child thanks to you. Thank you to the Institute team – you did it,” the message said.

It was previously reported that Lviv doctors transplanted a kidney from an infant to a five-year-old child.
