“At Shannon Airport (Canada – ed.) I had an unscheduled meeting with the Chairman of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, Abdel Fattah al-Burgan. Thanks for Sudan’s continued support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine ,” the president wrote.
According to him, general security challenges were discussed, especially the activities of illegal armed groups financed by Russia.
Zelensky invited the Sudanese leader to support the Grain initiative from Ukraine and take part in this year’s summit.
“We are considering possible platforms for strengthening relations between Ukraine and African countries,” Zelensky added.
Earlier, the media reported that the Ukrainian special services are attacking a paramilitary group in Sudan that supports the Wagner PMC. The Main Intelligence Directorate responded to this information.
