Elon Musk’s SpaceX company conducted the second successful launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle this week, launching into orbit a new batch of 22 mini-satellites of the Starlink global Internet coverage network. About this company reported on Saturday, September 16th.
The rocket was launched from launch complex 40 at the base of the US Space Force at Cape Canaveral in Florida on Friday at 23:38 US East Coast time (Saturday at 06:38 Kiev time). About an hour later, the satellites were launched into orbit.
“The launch of 22 Starlink satellites has been confirmed,” the statement said.
The first multiple stage launch vehicle, used for the fifth time, made a controlled vertical landing on the Just Read the Instructions offshore drone platform in the Atlantic after separation.
This is the 108th launch of Internet satellites since May 2019 as part of the Starlink project and 39 since the beginning of this year. SpaceX has already launched more than 5.1 thousand satellites into orbit. Some of them failed or went out of orbit. But more than 4.7 thousand devices remain in orbit in working condition.
