Scientists explain that the question mark may have a very common origin. It looks like two galaxies are in the process of merging.
The James Webb Space Telescope has found a space object shaped like a question mark. This was reported by CNN.
In particular, the image shows a pair of young stars called Herbig-Haro 46/47. Located 1470 light-years from Earth in the constellation Vela in the Milky Way galaxy, these stars are actively forming and orbiting each other closely.
However, researcher Christopher Britt believes that the mysterious object may be a merger of two galaxies that are likely billions of light-years from Earth.
According to him, most galaxies interact in this way several times during their existence, but this process does not last long.
He also added that in the future, our Milky Way galaxy is also waiting to merge with the Andromeda galaxy. According to scientists, this will happen in about four billion years, but it is not known what form they will take.
It was previously reported that the new Euclid space telescope sent back to Earth the first-ever image of the “dark universe”.
